What can Facebook teach us about Kansai Culture?

Many of you might automatically think about the size of the social networks as people in Kansai are known to be friendlier thus might have larger friend networks… This calls for another study but it seems like one of the major differences is “adoption of innovation”.

Despite the fact that Facebook is one of the hottest topics in the media, especially after the interface change and a recent Hollywood movie, people in Kansai don’t seem to much care about this site. As can be seen in these google insights graphs, Osakan’s search for prices, post office and maps where Facebook tops Tokyoites search list (in the last 90 days). Another pattern emerges from these figures is the tendency to search in romaji versus Kanji…
